15 Healthy Keto Movie Snacks (Also Good for Vegans)

keto snacks

I’m a big snacker. I especially love to munch on something while I re-watch Midnight in Paris for the billionth time. While the easiest thing to do is to gobble that bucket of caramel popcorn. But it can hardly be included in the list of keto movie snacks. Still, I also like to munch on keto vegetables dipped in peanut butter to feel healthy once in a while.

In this article, I’ll show you some of my favorite vegan and keto low carb movie snacks that I graze on while watching something on TV.

Important Note: All nutrition facts are from Carb Manager, and you can pop over there to adjust the measurements based on your servings. Although the products from different brands will differ significantly in their macros. So please be mindful when choosing a particular snack to purchase.

Roasted peanuts

Serving size: 28g | Calories: 160.4 | Carbs: 7.6g | Fiber: 0g | Net carbs: 7.6g | Total carbs minus fiber: 7.6g | Fats: 11.3g | Protein: 6.4g

Roasted peanuts are extremely addictive, so be warned. One of my absolute favorite keto movie theater snacks is a bowlful of peanuts. Roasted peanuts are the perfect substitute for that movie time popcorn.

Sunflower seeds

Serving size: 1 cup | Calories: 799.2 | Carbs: 30.9g | Fiber: 14.3g | Net carbs: 16.6g | Total carbs minus fiber: 16.6g | Fats: 69.3g | Protein: 27.1g

I love munching on sunflower seeds because it’s the perfect low carb movie theatre snack. Sunflower seeds come with high fat, low sugar content that will easily keep in your ketosis. The saltiness makes it the perfect popcorn alternative.

Kale chips

Serving size: 28g | Calories: 150 | Carbs: 8g | Fiber: 3g | Net carbs: 5g | Total carbs minus fiber: 5g | Fats: 7g | Protein: 6g

Does anybody remember when kale chips were all the rage a few years ago? Well, they are one of the best keto-friendly movie snacks. Easy to prepare and tasty, get many kale chips to snack on during a movie marathon. You can also make your kale chips by drizzling a handful of kale leaves with olive oil and salt then popping them in the oven for 20 minutes.

Keto chocolate

Serving size: 28g | Calories: | Carbs: 13g | Fiber: 3g | Net carbs: 10g | Total carbs minus fiber: 8g| Fats: 15g | Protein: 4g

If you’re anything like me, you like to alternate sweet and savory when snacking. It’s times like these that call for dark unsweetened chocolate. I’ll pair a nibble of keto chocolate with some salty peanuts to get that complete palate satisfaction.

Peanut butter

Serving size: 1 tablespoon | Calories: 94.1 | Carbs: 3.1 | Fiber: 1.0g | Net carbs: 2.2g | Total carbs minus fiber: 2.2g | Fats: 8.1g | Protein: 4.0g

Let’s face it – keto allows eating peanut butter straight out the jar. Personally, I prefer for my snack to last me the whole movie. You can also go ahead and prepare fat bombs. Fat bombs are ball-shaped goodies made of fat-rich ingredients like peanut butter, coconut oil, and nuts, designed to satisfy keto cravings and fill the stomach.

Almond butter

Serving size: 1 tablespoon | Calories: 101.3 | Carbs: 3.4g | Fiber: 0.6g | Net carbs: 2.8g | Total carbs minus fiber: 2.8g | Fats: 9.5g | Protein: 2.4g

Almond butter is a close second to peanut butter for me. Almond butter is low carb and perfect for the ketogenic diet. I like to savor my almond butter, so I’m not usually dipping my spoon into the jar. The best way to have almond butter is in a nutty almond butter fat bomb. Combine a ½ cup of almond butter and 2 tablespoons coconut flour with a keto sweetener like a monk fruit (1 tablespoon). That’s how you get delicious almond bliss balls for your low carb movie theater snacks.

Cherry tomatoes

Serving size: 5 small tomatoes | Calories: 13.5 | Carbs: 2.9g | Fiber: 2.0g | Net carbs: 2.0g | Total carbs minus fiber: 2.0g | Fats: 0.1g | Protein: 0.7g

I like finger foods for my keto-friendly movie snacks – something I can pick up and pop into my mouth. That’s why cherry tomatoes are on this list. They are a healthy snack for keto movie time. You can also toast a few green peppers, tofu, and cherry tomatoes on a skewer for a smoky flavored keto snack.

Olives

Serving size: 1 slice | Calories: 0.7 | Carbs: 0g | Fiber: 0g| Net carbs: 0g | Total carbs minus fiber: 0g | Fats: 0.1g | Protein: 0g

Hear me out: olives are a really good low carb movie theatre snack. If eating olives straight out the jar doesn’t sound like a thing you’d do, I invite you to try it out. You might like it—alternate olives with something like kale chips or peanuts to balance out the tastes on your tongue.

Avocado

Serving size: 1 avocado | Calories: 217.6 | Carbs: 11.6g | Fiber: 9.1g | Net carbs: 2.5g | Total carbs minus fiber: 2.5g | Fats: 19.9g | Protein: 2.7g

Avocadoes are literally one of the only fruits you can eat on a ketogenic diet, so why not add it to the list of no carb movie snacks? I like to settle down with a bowl of chopped up avocadoes and enjoy the creamy goodness while I watch mindless TV.

Celery sticks

Serving size: 1 piece | Calories: 0.6 | Carbs: 0.1g | Fiber: 0.1g | Net carbs: 0.1g | Total carbs minus fiber: 0.1g | Fats: 0g | Protein: 0g

If you like a satisfying crunch to your snacks, celery sticks are the perfect movie theater keto snack. Dip celery sticks in peanut butter or tahini to pack more flavor to your movie-time crunching. The best part about this snack is that you can eat; however much you want, and you will still remain in ketosis. Be sure to check the labels if you get your peanut butter or tahini from the store – you don’t want any rogue sugar messing up your ketosis.

Cucumbers

Serving size: 1 piece | Calories: 0.8 | Carbs: 0.2g | Fiber: 0g | Net carbs: 0.1g | Total carbs minus fiber: 0.1g | Fats: 0g | Protein: 0g

I discovered the perfect tasty keto no-carb movie snack. Drum roll… Salted cucumbers. I chop my cucumbers into long pieces – almost like fries – and lightly sprinkle salt on them. It tastes glorious, and you should try it out the next time you can’t think of anything else for a healthy snack. It’s yummy, you can have as much as you want, and feel great!

Dill pickles

Serving size: 1 small | Calories: 4.4 | Carbs: 1.0g | Fiber: 0.4g | Net carbs: 0.6g | Total carbs minus fiber: 0.6g| Fats: 0.1g | Protein: 0.2g

Dill pickles are awesome for maintaining keto at the movies. Some movie theaters will offer them at the snacks counter. Reach for these and savor that salty pickled flavor while keeping your eyes glued to the screen in front of you.

Bell peppers

Serving size: 100g | Calories: 31 | Carbs: 6.0g | Fiber: 2.1g | Net carbs: 0.6g | Total carbs minus fiber: 3.9g| Fats: 0.3g | Protein: 1.0g

Green, red, and yellow bell peppers can be used as shells to scoop up tahini, almond butter, or guacamole for your keto-friendly movie snacks. The citrusy flavor is the perfect match for a fat-rich guac or any other keto dip. You can also whip up a quick coconut oil and bell pepper stir-fry seasoned pepper and salt if you’re craving something savory.

Baked cauliflower

Serving size: ½ cup | Calories: 75 | Carbs: 7.0g | Fiber: 3.0g | Net carbs: 0.6g | Total carbs minus fiber: 0.3g| Fats: 5.0g | Protein: 3.0g

There are a variety of creative ways to prepare cauliflowers; it all depends on your preferences. You can grate them and sauté for quick cauliflower rice or stir-fry them with some coconut oil and bell peppers. However, my go-to cauliflower snack is baked cauliflower pieces. Chop your cauliflowers into bite-sized pieces, add a splash of oil and salt to taste. Pop it in the oven for about 25 minutes to get your crispy cauliflower snack.

Zucchini Chips

Serving size: 7g | Calories: 270.9 | Carbs: 6.4g | Fiber: 2.3g | Net carbs: 4.0g | Total carbs minus fiber: 4.0g| Fats: 27.6g | Protein: 2.1g

Zucchini chips might be the ultimate keto snack for movies. Seeing as anything potato is a no-go for keto, zucchini chips come to the rescue. Make your own at home by slicing zucchini into thin slices, season with salt and pepper, then pop in the oven for 10-20 minutes. Enjoy these homemade zucchini chips with homemade ketchup or similar dip. You can also alternate zucchini chips with something fresh like celery sticks or cherry tomatoes.
